There is more bounce in California

After finals were out, the beach was calling my name! So Lee, Meg, Devon and I made a quick weekend trip down to Cali. We started the trip in Anaheim were Meg and Devon spent the day at Disneyland but Lee and I headed to Laguna Beach. Laguna quickly became one of my favourite areas with all its cute cafes and boutiques lining the beach front. After a good soak up of sun we ate at a cute bakery/cafe that had home made quiche and salads. It reminded me so much of South Africa and made me so happy. We then head up the coast to Balboa Island, which promptly became apart of our life plan. Beautiful houses, white beaches and best of all while we sat there a school of dolphins came into the bay! After that charming end to the day, the last thing that was left to do was to eat one of the infamous sprinkle cupcakes and fetch Meg and Dev. Of cause a vacation wouldn't really be a vacation without one of those awkward, funny but bad decisions. Ours was definitely the Crab Cooker. Lee had been so excited all day to eat at this amazing but cheap seafood place that had been recommended to him. The restaurant looked well themed with the fishy smell and all, and it was packed with happy customers. Mistake number one: We both ordered the Clam Chowder. It seemed like a safe option to me and I had previously loved the Clam Chowder in San Fran. Anyway lets just say we were convinced this "homemade, grandmother's recipe Clam Chowder" was really tomato soup bought from the Walmart down the street. I don't think I have ever seen lee so cheesed off about his meal choice so he already had me laughing at all his funny faces. I think our waitress happened to catch a glimpse and she was soon at the table insisting "no this is our homemade, grandmother's recipe Clam Chowder, but should i bring you something else?" Of cause by this time I was in stitches and unable to keep a straight face because this waitress had the most soft but pendulum-dynamic voice I have ever heard. Up and down in the sweetest tone. "Woooould yoooooou liiiiiike sooooomethiiiiiiiing elllllllse?" Oh it was so funny! Although we wont be returning to the Crab Cooker. The next day was a dream come true= Seaworld!
Both Meg and I have always wanted to go to Seaworld so what could the boys do but oblige this childhood dream. Of cause the favourite thing of the day was seeing Shamu, in other words all the killer whales having fun soaking all the views of theirs shows. It toke some convincing to get Meg to sit with us in the soak zone, the funny thing is she was the only one that got wet! We attended the day show and the night show which ended with fireworks, but I would just like to say these impressive animals were well worth the trip.
There is more to do in Seaworld than just wave to Shamu and we definitely enjoyed everything Seaworld had to offer like the Shark tank and the Arctic World with Polar bears and white whales. Lee's favourite was cause the penguins as they are so cute when they waddle and I think my favourite was the non-rollacoaster ride, while Meg I think enjoyed buying her sweater that she will probably never wearing again. This is because even though the water rides were fun it was definitely freezing being soaking wet all day. Thanks for the fun trip everyone!
