With thousands of excited graduates it was difficult to spot me but I was over somewhere to the left.
So this is commencement ( I think, I always get confused but I am pretty sure this was commencement), where Elder Scott spoke and gave us sound advice for the future. Of cause I was way to caught up in the whole experience I don't even remember one piece of advice. Anyway after all the speeches and congratulations we get to exit and ring the victory bell.
And happiness is...finally being done.
Since the wind was blowing terribly we didn't take any more pictures. It seems on every important day in my life the wind howls: my wedding day and now graduation. So we headed off to the red lobster to have dinner.
The next day was convocation ( who knows it could really have been commencement but lets call this one convocation), which meant I get to walk across the stage with the other graduates in my college and be handed my degree. Lee was able to take the day off work to be apart of the celebrations, which made me so happy!
This time I think it was a lot easier to find me although...
by the time it was almost our turn the guy next to me seems half asleep...
and the guy behind me seems slightly angry. Maybe because I kept on stopping to take pics, but you know you only do this once so you got to get lots of pics.
So I walked...
...and Dr Brown handed over my degree. The announcer was so tricked by my last name, "van Deventer", that he forgot to say the Cum Laude part when I was walking! But luckily it says it on my degree.
And this is what one of BYU's newest graduates looks like, soo soo soo happy to be done.
So here comes all the pictures, and I know my grandad loves them so I added a lot!
The hubby and I!
My Grandad, the hubby and I.
My sister and me!
My dad, the hubby and the graduate.
My mom and the graduate.
The graduate and her degree.
The graduate and her family!
Now it was time to play around with the camera, and I would say we got some good shots!
My mom and her dad!
All in all it was a great day! Thanks grandad for coming over to spend it with us! It was great having you!
