Lee has been traveling quite a bit and I have had midterms coming out my ears. We did have the opportunity of taking a road trip to St. George, Utah over a long weekend though. It was a part of our Valentine's celebration as we love to go see the Home Parade there every year. Lee also spoiled me with chocolates and flowers! I couldn't ask for a better husband.
Let me explain a little bit more about what the home parade is. Every year the area will show case about 20 homes that have recently been built, that people can walk through and get some ideas. Since Lee and I both love to look at homes it's a perfect activity for us. This year we felt as if we have pretty much found an example of our dream home, which meant lee went camera happy! And I started planning which room would be my art studio!
| Since Lee loved taking pics of all the houses so much this was the only picture we got of us, haha sorry. |
We had just about the funniest experience in a hotel down there ever. Since the place was so booked out for the Home parade we had to book the only hotel available for the night. To start off lets just say it was not a very restful night and I must have laughed until my abs hurt! We arrived at the doors and instantly the smell of Indian food hit me, so we weren't surprised when we were greeted owner. Unfortunately the whole place smelt like Indian spices, but that I could handle compared to the fact that it was obvious that the place had not been cleaned between guest. The bathroom was covered in foreign hair, but at this point we were still willing to make it work since there was no where else to stay. So after cleaning up a little we went to bed only to be woken up an hour later by the alarm clock going off. At this point we were rather irritated but when it happened again at 3 in the morning that was the last straw. Lee started pulling at the cord to try unplug it, but of cause the crappy hotels plugs were behind the furniture and it continued to blare. Lee must have even tried throwing it against the wall he was so grumpy about it. Eventually we got the alarm clock situation under control and to discover that we had a leaky toilet that ran all night long. It was just as painful as hearing something drip consistently. We were both so grumpy in the morning, but at least we still had our sense of humors and laughed about it all day. Lets just say we will not be staying in the comfort inn again any time soon.
The saving grace that morning was that Lee toke me to my favorite breakfast restaurant! There is always an hour wait but it is soooo worth it!
